Ladysmith KZN: Dam levels still good as winter draws to a close

During the summer months, plenty of rain fell in the catchment area and filled up the dams

Some trees are already beginning to blossom again and in a few weeks’ time, winter will be a thing of the past. This of course means that the spring rains will start to fall.

During the summer months, plenty of rain fell in the catchment area and filled up the dams surrounding Ladysmith, leaving most of them above the 100% mark.

Now, in July, dam levels are still high.

Here are the latest levels in the Ladysmith area.

Spioenkop Dam is on 99.79%, just below the 100% mark.

Woodstock Dam is on 92.11% and Wagendrift Dam 99.72%.

Hazelmere Dam is the lowest dam in the province on 46.86%.
