The mayor of Alfred Duma Local Municipality, Vincent Madlala, appeared in court again today (October 22).
He faces charges of having six firearms, semi-automatic rifles and shotguns in his possession without licences, permits or authorisation to possess said firearms. He also faces charges of obstructing the course of justice.
This was his second appearance in court since being arrested on Friday, July 30.
He appeared with his daughter, Sanelisiwe Madlala, who is the second accused on the firearms charge.

The case was postponed and he will appear again on January 28, 2022. The State asked for more time so that further investigations can be carried out.
