Vryheid Cricket Club had a weekend filled with thrilling fixtures. The weekend kicked off with Mondlo taking on Wicket Wasps in a T20 encounter. Wasps were sent in to bat and post a total to chase. They amassed 159 runs in their allotted overs. PJ du Toit notched up an impressive 58 runs, with Ndlovu taking five wickets. Mondlo could only manage 57 runs in their innings, which meant that Wasps took the spoils by 102 runs. Saturday saw Buffels take on Legends. Fielding a strong side, Legends went in as favourites in this T20 fixture. Buffels, as the underdogs, showed true grit in the field, with Devin Aspden taking a blinder of a catch to set the tone for the rest of the day. Buffels posted 135 runs in their innings and Legends ended on 111 in response. Buffels therefore won the match by 24 runs. Bruce had a solid knock of 44 runs to put his team in a favourable position to come out on top.
