Bumbusizwe voting station closed after complaints

Voters are waiting for the IEC to resolve the matter.

Today’s (November 4) local government elections in Newcastle have, for the most part, proceeded in a calm and orderly manner.

However, Amajuba Eyethu editor Joseph Khuzwayo reported that the gates at Bumbusizwe Voting District in Madadeni, Section 5, Ward 28, had been closed following a complaint regarding individuals allegedly brought to the voting station by the IFP.

He further reported that these individuals were allegedly not registered to vote in this particular voting district.

“Voters are currently waiting for IEC management to arrive and resolve the matter before voting can proceed,” he said at the time.

Newcastle West voting remains quiet

In Newcastle West, voting stations have been relatively quiet, with no serious incidents being reported.
