Vish Govender is out as acting Municipal Manager

A decision has been made to remove Vish Govender as acting Municipal Manager.
The Newcastle Advertiser has confirmed that Govender is out, following a meeting of the Newcastle Local Council yesterday. This meeting began around 14:00 and went on until around 22:00 last night.
The matter of Govender’s role as acting Municipal Manager was discussed ‘in committee’ (among the Executive Committee and excluding regular councillors and outside guests).
Govender commented: “I will abide by the decision of Council and I wish the new acting MM everything of the best, and look forward to serving under his leadership.”
