‘Barefoot and bonding’ at weekly parkrun –
Five-year-old Azura Johnson bonds with her great-grandmother, Alida Strydom (75) at the Grey Goose parkrun every week. They both complete the five kilometre course entirely barefoot.
Azura has completed 16 parkrun events since then and has no intentions of stopping anytime soon.
Alida meanwhile, completed her first parkrun three years ago.
She has completed 114 parkrun events. She said it ‘felt only natural’ to include her great-grandchildren in her passion.
