Residents give blood to support Freedom Day drive
A healthy number of donors turned up to support the initiative. In total, 22 donors rolled up their sleeves on Freedom Day, saving a possible 66 lives in the process.
With the recent floods in Durban, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) says that the current blood supply is under severe strain.
This resulted in the SANBS having a one-day-only promotion on Freedom Day (April 27). A total of five locations in the Northern KwaZulu-Natal area were selected, and Dundee Boulevard was one of them.
