Sewage leak leaves business submerged –
When a local businessman returned to his Van der Bijl Street premises after the long weekend, he was appalled to find sewage literally gushing out of the windows.
I discovered that my entire workshop had been flooded with sewage water. We have two restrooms on the property and both were entirely flooded…”
The businessman, who declined to give his name and surname, explained the area where his premises were situated had both the CBD and Lennoxton sewage lines running beneath it.
As a result, when residents return home after work and use the bathroom, the sewage overflows onto my business. It’s filthy and harmful to my health and that of my employees!”
The businessman said he and his workers spend the entire day trying to divert the sewage, digging trenches here and there in an attempt to drain off the waste water.
