Church brings relief to flood victims

Members of the uThukela Amajuba Mzinyathi Christian Council (TAMCC) were part of what they call an ‘historic event’ on April 26. A ‘Walk of Witness’ was held in Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
This event was organised by the South African Council of Churches (SACC), in partnership with the National Inter-Religious Forum.
“The aim of this event was to visit people who have been affected by recent storms in order to comfort them and view the progress of assistance offered,” explained TAMCC director and SACC regional co-ordinator Reverend Sonto Thusi from Estcourt.
Relief items were distributed to those in need.
“Indeed, we as the church emphasise to our leaders and members to adopt the custom of always being active and doing good for all our people. This work clearly confirms that. Lastly, let us sympathise with the people, families and churches that have suffered during these floods,” added Rev Sonto.
