Remembering loved ones we lost
The message on the day was to have an attitude of love in everything you face in life
A time for remembrance and reflection was offered to locals when the Estcourt Hospice Association hosted its annual Remembrance Service at Hospice House on May 7.
At the Remembrance Service, a message is delivered and songs sung. The highlight is the candle lighting.
Locals are invited to light a candle in memory of loved ones who have passed.

At Saturday’s service, Salochana Naidoo welcomed everyone before Louis Piovesan opened the service in prayer.
Pastor Emmanuel Frank then did a reading from the Bible.
His dad, Pastor Steven Frank, then delivered a message which was taken from the book of Job.
Pastor Steven spoke of how it is human nature to be bitter when faced with tragedy such as the loss of loved ones. However, he encouraged all present to be like Job who, despite suffering many losses, had the ‘right attitude’ that led to him being handsomely rewarded.
“He got back double what he lost because of his attitude to God; love changes everything,” he said.
To conclude the service, each person was invited to light a candle in memory of a lost loved one, which was a tearful moment for some.
The service ended with the singing of ‘Amazing Grace’, before everyone was invited to enjoy refreshments in the warm sun.
