Suspects arrested with large quantity of dagga

A search turned up 23 bales of dagga valued at about R120,000.

Police made arrests and recovered over R100,000 worth of dagga after a high-speed chase with drug runners. The arrests and recoveries were the result of a tip-off that a vehicle travelling from Pongola towards Vryheid was transporting drugs. Police officers acted swiftly and spotted the vehicle along the R69. A high-speed chase ensued and the vehicle was stopped in the Bhekuzulu location. A search turned up 23 bales of dagga valued at about R120,000. Four suspects aged between 32 and 39 were arrested and the vehicle was impounded.
