A race meeting was held in preparation of the Womza Northern Regionals in Newcastle in July.
Oval Track heats up Newcastle –
On July 2, Newcastle will host the first leg of the Womza Northern Regional Championships. Competitors from across the country, including Rustenburg, Ellisras and Randfontein, will match speed with Newcastle’s top racers.
Ahead of this thrilling event, the Newcastle Oval Track hosted a race meeting last Saturday (May 14).
Results from the event are as follows:
Quad bikes: first – Joe Mollentze, second – Andre van der Merwe, third – Cabous Bezuidenhout
Stock rods: first – Theoniel Bornman, second – Jan Delport, third – Zaakira Khan
1660 modifieds: first – Stephan van der Merwe, second – Hendrik van der Merwe, third – Tiaan Buys
2-litre modifieds: first – Johan Pieters, second – Boet Buys, third – Roux-an Pieters
Hot rods: first – Christopher Clarke, second – Jan Delport, third – Theoniel Bornman
Heavy metals: first – Henk van Rooyen, second – Tiaan Buys, third – Marcel Beeslaar.
