Water petition submitted to parliament
The petition is aimed at resolving the water crisis in Ladysmith
Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor in uThukela District Municipality, Cllr Thys Janse van Rensburg, has confirmed that the ‘Water Woes Petition’ was submitted to parliament on Wednesday (May 18).
It was handed over by DA Member of Parliament (MP) Alf Lees to Adv Victor Ngaleka.

According to the DA, they opted to direct the memorandum directly to parliament and national government because the provincial administration has delivered few results in combating the water crisis in Ladysmith.
“The DA trusts that parliament will enact its oversight role and will hastily assist the many residents who have been sitting without basic water services,” said the councillor.
