A businessman is up in arms about the illegal dumping taking place in front of his premises at the corner of Carbineer and Poort Road. He is also baffled by the fact that police documents were found among the rubbish.

The businessman says that the dumping takes place on a regular basis and he pays a person out of his own pocket to pick up the trash that accumulates. The strange thing is that SAPS documents were found in the rubbish as well. 

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan, he has been to the spot where the dumping takes place and discovered a few documents that appeared to be from their Forensic Unit.

“Further enquiries and investigations revealed that the said documents were taken during a series of burglaries that occurred at the Forensic Unit recently,” commented Khan.

The recovered documents will be subjected to further investigation.

An appeal is made to the community to please inform the police if any property or documents belonging to the SAPS are discovered anywhere.
