Mall ‘adopts’ special needs school –
Two burglaries in the space of a month proved a major setback for Esperanza Special Needs School. The school was broken into twice in April, with the thieves causing major damage.
Principal, Jennifer Pillay explained the locked kitchen cupboards were forced open by thieves in the most recent burglary.
After hearing about the school’s plight and the need for help, the Newcastle Mall has ‘adopted’ Esperanza through the ‘Adopt a Class’ initiative. Residents are urged to assist with the extensive renovations – cash donations, materials and services rendered will be greatly appreciated.
Anyone who donates to the school will receive discretionary advertising space at the Newcastle Mall and will be included in all PR associated with the project,” said the mall’s Marketing Manager, Beulah Rajkumar.
