There was a house fire in Surat Road on Tuesday afternoon (May 31), but luckily no one was injured.

The family was at work when the fire started in the kitchen.

A neighbour saw the flames and alerted the authorities. Alfred Duma Local Municipality fire-fighters rushed to the scene and easily contained the blaze, which they extinguished in a matter of minutes.
