Speaker’s bodyguards launch attack at meeting?
According to Ramsey, he has in his possession a video of the speaker's bodyguards threatening him and saying 'we will steal you in the dark'.

“I was assaulted by Endumeni Speaker Nsibande’s bodyguards during the Integrated Development Plan meeting,” alleges Sydney Ramsey.
According to Ramsey, he has not healed from the wounds he sustained during the assault, as he claims he was brutally kicked and physically attacked by the bodyguards.
“All we wanted to know, as the community of Ward 7, was what the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) had in store for our ward. I stood up and asked Speaker Nsibande to unpack the Ward 7 plan and not to tell us about all seven wards,” he explained.
He alleges that he was then manhandled and dragged out after Speaker Nsibande instructed that he be removed from the hall.
“The speaker did not reprimand his bodyguards when they attacked me and I have since opened a case of assault against them,” said Ramsey.
He further explained that he has a J88 form from his doctor, proving that he was assaulted.
According to Ramsey, he has in his possession a video of the speaker’s bodyguards threatening him and saying ‘we will steal you in the dark’.
“I am now scared for my life, because I don’t know what that threat means and all I am now hoping for is that justice prevails,” he concluded.
In his defence, Speaker Nsibande commented that, “His (Ramsey’s) intention was to disrupt the meeting and we knew this before the meeting even started, as he previously caused a disturbance in the election of ward members in Ward 7.”
Nsibande said that he asked Ramsey to keep quiet and told him that his concerns would be addressed after the mayor had tabled the IDP.
“He continued causing a disturbance, saying this was his town and he would not sit down,” explained Nsibande.
The speaker says Ramsey was not assaulted by his bodyguards, but was merely escorted by police who were at the meeting, and a case has been opened against him.
