A building along Allen Street was suddenly engulfed by flames earlier this afternoon (Monday, September 25).
It’s believed emergency personnel responded to the fire at around 14:00 to help extinguish the blaze.
Officials have confirmed that no injuries have been reported. However, Allen Street was closed off to road users temporarily while Newcastle fire fighters continued to contain the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is still not clear at this stage and will remain subjective to further police investigations.
