KZN Post Office branches ready to provide Motor Licence renewals and number plate changes
Newcastle Post Office is one of the designated KZN branches where motorists can renew their license discs and/or change their vehicle number plates as per provincial legislation.
The following KZN branches welcome customers to renew their license discs and/or change their vehicle number plates as stipulated by the KZN province in December 2023:
The other post officers include Durban, Howick, Ingwavuma, Kwangwanase, Mahlabathini, Margate, Mayors Walk, Mkuze, Mtubatuba, Nkandla, Nqutu and Yellowwood Park.
Suzie Khumalo on behalf of Joint South African Post Office (‘SAPO’) Business Rescue Practitioners said renewing a motor vehicle license from Post Office branches means that upon completion of the paperwork and payment thereof, you walk away with the disc, ready to cut out and apply to your vehicle’s windscreen.
“Across the KZN province, the Post Office has 17 branches, which have the authority from the Department of Transport to provide motor vehicle renewals,” she explained.
Customers wishing to renew their license disc are required to bring their ID and proof of address, like a utility bill, into the branch.
Forms can be completed in the branch. Either cash or card is accepted as payment.
Clients who wish to change their vehicle number plates to the new ZN plates are also welcome.
