Newcastle SPCA offers ‘free’ boarding amidst flood warnings

In preparation for potential flooding caused by the current torrential rainfall, the Newcastle SPCA is offering free boarding to pet owners in affected areas.

Newcastle SPCA Inspector, Jenavieve Tinkler, said while no standard boarding fees will be charged, donations of any kind will be appreciated to help house and feed the possible influx of animals.

Members of the public who wish to assist the SPCA to look after these pets can donate dog and cat food which can be dropped at the SPCA offices at 1 Samson Drive, Barry Hertzog Park.

Donations of money are also welcome and can be paid into the SPCA fundraising account:

  • Bank: ABSA
  • Account Number: 1055870701
