The State Vet has provided a detailed map of the Foot and Mouth Demarcated Area across KwaZulu-Natal. Read more here:
Movement Control Protocol applies to the Disease Management Areas in KwaZulu-Natal, as declared in Government Gazette Notice No 52318 of March 17, in terms of the Animal Disease Act, 1984 (Act No 35 of 1984).

The area declared to be part of the KwaZulu-Natal Disease Management Area includes the following:
- The whole of the Big 5 Hlabisa Local Municipality;
- Mtubatuba Local Municipality;
- Nongoma Local Municipality;
- Ulundi Local Municipality;
- Umhlabuyalingana Local Municipality;
- Jozini Local Municipality;
- Pongola Local Municipality;
- Abaqulusi Local Municipality;
- Mfolozi Local Municipality;
- Mhlathuze Local Municipality;
- Mthonjaneni Local Municipality;
- Nqutu Local Municipality;
- Nkandla Local Municipality;
- uMlalazi Local Municipality;
- and the Mandeni Local Municipality.
It also includes the portion of the Emadlangeni Local municipality south of the R34 from R33;
- the portion of Newcastle municipality south of the R34 up to and east of N11;
- the portion of Danhauser Local Municipality east of N11 and North of R68;
- the portion of Endumeni Local Municipality north of R68 and east of R33;
- the portion of Msinga Local Municipality east of R33;
- the portion of UMvoti local municipality east of the R33 up to R74 and north of R74;
- the portion of Maphumulo local municipality north-east of the R74;
- the portion of Ndwedwe local municipality east of the R74;
- and the potion of KwaDukuza Local Municipality north-east of R74 up to the N2 and west to the N2 up to Mandeni Local Municipality.
