Newcastle police arrest wanted suspect after coordinated operation

Newcastle police arrested a suspect wanted since earlier this year, after joint operation by the Crime Fighter Task Team and local units.

A suspect wanted in connection with a Newcastle police case opened earlier this year has been successfully arrested following a coordinated effort by multiple local law enforcement units.

A warrant had been issued for the suspect.

According to Imran Ghafoor of the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team (CCPA), the operation was carried out with the support of the

Newcastle Tracing Team, led by Sgt H.L. Kumalo, and the Visible Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU). Off-duty Constable Bezuidenhout also assisted in the operation.

“Well done to all involved,” Ghafoor said, commending the collaborative effort by the operational team.
