Davest Detailing launches training academy to empower locals
Participants will gain practical skills they can apply immediately.
A new skills-driven initiative is set to make its mark in Newcastle as Davest Detailing prepares to launch a training academy aimed at equipping individuals with specialised automotive detailing expertise.
The official launch will take place on May 16 at the Newcastle Inn from 08:00 to 17:00.
The academy was established in response to the growing demand for professional detailing services, particularly from car dealerships. Beyond addressing industry needs, the initiative also aims to improve road safety by enhancing water repellency on vehicle windscreens during rainy conditions.
“Our goal is to empower car wash owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by introducing glass detailing as an additional service,” said a Davest representative. “This allows them to up-skill while increasing their income potential.”
Academy focuses on practical skills development
The academy’s programmes are tailored for a wide audience, including car owners, independent workshop operators, aspiring car wash entrepreneurs and fleet managers.
Training is designed to be hands-on, ensuring that participants gain practical skills they can apply immediately.
The academy will offer a Car Glass Detailing Course, with plans to expand into additional programmes and establish more training centres in major cities and key towns.
Hands-on training with certification
Participants who complete the course will receive a Certificate in Product Proficiency, along with branded apparel identifying them as Davest-certified detailers.
Training will be conducted in person by Davest certified technicians, with a strong focus on practical learning.
Training will cover:
- Correction of minor glass defects
- Advanced surface preparation
- Dual-layer coating application
- Proper glass maintenance protocols
Davest highlights specialised approach
Davest Detailing distinguishes itself through a focused, skills-based approach:
- 80% of the training is practical
- Courses are specialised rather than broad-based
- Flexible payment options are available through RCS cards
While the academy does not currently offer internships or job placement, its emphasis remains on equipping individuals with the tools to create their own business opportunities.
Registration now open
Registrations open on May 16, 2026, with early enrolees benefiting from discounted training fees and starter stock of Davest products.
