Endumeni Mayor reaches out to local business

Also on the agenda was sharing ideas on how immobile community members can best be accommodated in terms of public transport from the centre to the rank or to different locations.

Endumeni Mayor Siyabonga Ndlovu had a ‘meet and greet’ with the new Pick n Pay management and franchise owner Ian Marx to build relationships with business owners and investors.
Mayor Ndlovu reported having ‘an insightful discussion’ with Marx and his team of general manager Robert Speranza and store manager Malcolm Naidoo.
Various issues were discussed, including youth employment and the store’s contribution towards the town’s economic growth.

Marx hinted at the possibility of expanding his store in future, as he has done in Estcourt, where he runs another Pick n Pay franchise.
He also mentioned that when he took over in November last year, he retained the previous owner’s employees; some of them have obtained promotions with the new management.
“Overall, this ‘meet and greet’ meeting turned out to be a wonderful brainstorming session on how the community and businesses can benefit from each other,” agreed the mayor and local Pick n Pay owner Ian Marx.
