Sub station blast knocks out power in parts of Dundee
Residents reported hearing a loud bang at about 9.20 pm on Monday night.
Tandy and Jimmy Keith Streets residents were left stranded without electricity on Monday evening when a substation exploded on the corner.
Upon hearing a loud bang, residents rushed outside to witness flames and smoke coming out of the substation.
Emergency services and a standby electrician were called for. The situation was assessed immediately and professionally with protocol and safety regulations for bystanders.
The temporary assessment was done by the standby electrician and fire and rescue officials. On Tuesday morning officials will start the repair work.
