Dundee Round Table to host Winter Knights project in aid of Adult Centre

Dundee's Round Table members are encouraging the community to this winter open their hearts and assist the residents of the Dundee Adult Centre that caters for the mentally disabled.

The alarming need for the public to come to the aid of facilities such as the Dundee Adult Centre amid cuts in government subsidies is starker than ever before.

The centre, that cares for over 55 mentally disabled people from all communities, needs urgent assistance.
It was with this in mind that Round Table chairperson Chris Purcell announced that this year’s Winter Knights project will be aimed at helping the Dundee Adult Centre.

“Winter Knights is an annual Round Table initiative to bring warmth to the less fortunate.
“While we say we are cold in our homes, imagine what it’s like for those with so much less?
“With the help of the public, we can relieve the effects of the cold by donating warm clothing, blankets, non-perishable foods and cash.

“Round Table members will be at Dundee Golf Club from 18:30 on Friday, May 31, manning a donation table.
“Please come along and support this initiative as we seek to assist our Adult Centre, which plays such an important role in our town.”
Willie Steenberg, who was recently voted in as chairperson of the Dundee Adult Centre, said he was thrilled with the support of Round Table.

“We do need all the assistance we can get from the public and we look forward to strengthening this partnership.
“We also look forward to welcoming the support of our generous sponsors.
“Any blankets, curtains or other donations will be hugely welcomed, and we will ensure that the contributions benefit our residents.”
All are welcome at the golf club to meet the Winter Knights of Dundee Round Table.
