Dundee High’s dancing queen Novelee stepping towards success

Most recently, she took part in the ASSA Dance Championships - Acrobatic Sport of South Africa - in Pretoria. Through Dundee Wimpy, a raffle was arranged that raised R2400 which enabled Novelee to travel to Pretoria.

13-year-old Novelee Vorster has overcome many obstacles to take to the stage and achieve many accolades in the world of dancing. Novelee is now a Grade 8 learner at Dundee High, where she recently performed a dance routine (that was widely acclaimed) during the staging of ‘The Beauty and the Beast’ play.

Novelee started dancing at the age of six when she joined Stepping Out Dance Academy. From there, she has attended many competitions. A recent highlight was when she was invited to take part in the South African National Dancing Academy, where she participated in different categories in her age group and was placed seventh overall in the championships.

“I really thank all the sponsors who have helped me on my dancing journey. A special word of tribute to my dance teachers, Marina and Cathy, for all they have done,” Novelee said.
