Brazen gang bomb van transporting cash near Kingsley/Utrecht area

The cash heist disrupted late Saturday afternoon traffic SAPS said.

Firearms and money were taken when a gang travelling in two vehicles hijacked and bombed a van transporting cash near the Kingsely/Utrecht late on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the armed men were travelling in an Isuzu and Tiguan. Initial reports indicated that no one was injured in the incident.

The men made their getaway, and a widespread manhunt was launched. The police in Dundee, Nquthu, and Vryheid were all activated.

There have been no reports of arrests at this stage.
