Farm watch and community members helped track down the suspects before handing them over to the SAPS.

A police constable was one of two men arrested yesterday, Tuesday, May 27, for the theft of seven head of cattle.

Community members spotted suspicious activity at a homestead on Sunshine Farm in the Fankomo area on the Dundee/Nquthu road. Farm watch was alerted, and with the help of community members, apprehended one man.

Chase was given to a bakkie loaded with seven cattle. The vehicle was pulled over, and one man was arrested.

“Four others are still at large”,  SAPS spokesperson Col Robert Netshiunda. The driver of the bakkie who was arrested was identified as a 32-year-old police Constable from Hluhluwe.
