Khumalo completes championship double at Dundee Country Club

The Matchplay Championships played over Saturday and Sunday produced plenty of exciting golf in Dundee.

Dundee Country Club’s annual Matchplay Championships produced plenty of drama over the weekend as golfers battled it out for top honours. Sunday morning’s semi-finals set the stage for an exciting afternoon of finals.

In the B Division, S Mkhaliphi edged out talented youngster D Vlok in a closely-contested match to book his place in the final, while Marc Nero overcame W Mhlungu to advance.
Nero continued his fine form to claim the B Division title.

In the A Division, veteran Jo Khumalo showed his class in a hard-fought encounter against Dr S Adalis, securing the Matchplay Championship and completing a double by adding the title to his 2026 Strokeplay Championship.

Attention now turns to this Saturday’s Dundee Adult Centre fund-raising golf day. Sponsored by Pick n Pay, the event will be played in a four-ball better-ball scramble-drive format and has attracted a full field of teams.
