Warm spell to follow cool start to spring in Endumeni
After a warm start to Spring last Tuesday, the mercury has dropped rapidly leaving many unpacking their jackes and jerseys.
The onset of the cold snap, due to a cut-off low-pressure system, has left many Dundee residents wondering what happened to Spring – the start of which is traditionally celebrated on September 1
With the mercury dropping to 13 degrees today,  Monday, with welcome light rain, temperatures are expected to climb steadily, reaching the mid-20s by Wednesday and around 27°C on Thursday and Friday.
According to the South African Weather Services, the weekend should remain relatively warm, although a few showers could develop on Saturday. Sunday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures reaching about 28°C.
The outlook suggests a return to more typical spring conditions, with cool mornings followed by increasingly warm afternoons.
The latest forecast also comes after unsettled weather affected parts of KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend, with forecasters warning of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in some areas.
