Police nab member of ATDF-SA on N3 at Bergville-Colenso off ramp.

SAPS make arrests following bus stoning

A person believed to be from the All Truck Driver Forum South Africa (ATDF-SA) has been arrested for allegedly inciting violence on the N3 near Bergville in the early hours of Saturday, 30 May 2026.

Police said they found a group of people stopping trucks on the highway before the suspects fled into nearby bushes, abandoning a white Isuzu bakkie. An ATDF-SA banner and stones were allegedly found inside the vehicle.

The owner of the bakkie, along with two truck drivers in a VW Polo who allegedly came to collect him, was arrested.

Police also allege that the bakkie owner can be linked to the stoning of a bus near the N3 Colenso interchange shortly before his arrest.

The suspects remain in custody and could face additional charges as investigations continue. This is according to the SAPS Facebook Page
