Murder-suicide suspected after 2 bodies found in Ezakheni

The incident has shocked the local community.

The bodies of two people, a man and a woman, were discovered in Ezakheni C-Section on Friday afternoon (July 3) in an incident that has shocked the local community.

It is believed that the deceased, who have been identified as 32-year-old Mpendulo Mavundla and 25-year-old Mandisa Princess Nxumalo, were in a romantic relationship.

Bodies discovered at boyfriend’s house

According to information received from the scene, the woman was found with fatal injuries at her boyfriend’s residence. Reports further allege that the man later took his own life at his home. These circumstances remain the subject of an ongoing police investigation.

Ezakheni Visible Policing officers responded to the incident after receiving reports from the area. Upon arrival, officers found the bodies of the two individuals. The woman had sustained fatal injuries, while the man was found dead after what is believed to have been a suicide.

Police investigate murder case and inquest

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan has confirmed the incident and stated that Ezakheni detectives are investigating a case of murder, as well as an inquest, to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Authorities have urged members of the public to allow the investigation to run its course and refrain from speculating while detectives gather evidence.
