Mayor introduces contractors to the community

The gravel road projects are underway

Alfred Duma Local Municipality Mayor Zama Sibisi recently introduced a contractor to the community of Ward 28 in the KwaMteyi area. The project to be carried out is a gravel road.

Speaking to the community, Ward Councllor Majola explained all the processes of constructing the road and pleaded with members of the community not to protest unnecessarily during the period of the project.

The appointed contractor, Messrs Ziyamasha Trading Enterprise Contracting (Pty) Ltd, will undertake the project at an amount of R2,895,130.98.

Speaker Bhekinkosi Sithole warmly introduced and ‘handed over’ another 2.4km gravel road project in the area of KwaMayithanqaze (Ward 3). This project will cost R3 million and is expected to take four months to complete.

The respective communities warmly welcomed the two projects and are happy that their areas are now receiving good service delivery after many years. Both projects will bring much-needed employment opportunities to locals, who will gain valuable skills and experience in the labour market.
