Rhino wrestlers clinch 28 gold medals

Wrestlers from the local Rhino Club showed their dominance by producing 28 champions at the recent Orange Grove KZN Greco-Roman tournament in Glencoe.
Over 80 enthusiastic young fighters from seven clubs entered this prestigious event and treated spectators to top-quality grip and grapple action.
Anthony Britz, of the Rhinos Club, performed like an old hand to overpower his opposition to earn gold and was deservedly named ‘Wrestler of the Day’.
Besides the Rhinos, wrestlers from Richards Bay, Brakpan, Volksrust, Amersfoort, Vryheid and Newcastle all put in a good showing to make the event the highlight of the year.
Johan Stander, president of the Rhino Club, thanked Orange Grove for their sponsorship not only of this tournament, but for also being the official sponsor of the KZN Wrestling Association.

Silver medal winners:
Liticia Stoltz, Zubunathi Mnikathi, Lou Cilliers, Johan van der Merwe, Mpho Makautse, Tristan Kruger, Jaiden Fritz, Mhleli Mncwango, Alex Jansen and Keagan Kruger.
Bronze medal winners:
Ruan Eloff, Leoney Olivier, Zoey van der Merwe and Johan Olivier.

Stander also thanked the parents of the wrestlers for their hard work and commitment, and Glencoe Primary for the use of the hall.
