Baby disembowelled, beheaded by uncle
He appeared in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court on Friday on charges of murder, assault (with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm) and malicious damage to property.
A Nquthu man has been charged for murder after his one-year-five-month-old niece was beheaded, disembowelled and her intestines hung on a roof.
According to police, the 33-year-old arrived home ‘high on drugs’ at his home in the Mpumelelweni area last Tuesday.
He went to a room where his mother and niece were and grabbed the child. His mother attempted to fight her off during which he stabbed her.
He then allegedly seized the baby’s leg and threw her against the wall.
He then took the infant to another room locked the door and proceeded to behead her after tying her head around his waist.
Nquthu police officers were called out and apprehended the suspect.
When they opened the door, they discovered that the suspect had also destroyed the furniture as well.
He appeared in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court on Friday on charges of murder, assault (with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm) and malicious damage to property. He was remanded in custody after requesting legal aid.
