Two men detained for the murder of security guard Xolani Mvelase last Sunday (March 19) were later released.
Police have confirmed that there was no evidence linking them to the crime.
Mvelase had only been working for 360Boyz Security Company for three days when he was attacked and murdered at the old Kilty’s factory – allegedly by copper wire thieves.
He was found tied up when the day guard came on shift to relieve him.
360Boyz Security Company owner Preshu Singh said he was devastated by the ‘senseless murder’.
“The thieves tried cutting cabling to steal copper, but did not really get away with much.
“We will do all we can to bring these brutal killers to book,” he said.
