Siblings make wrestling history

A bit of history was made when Lolla and Shaun Stoltz became the first-ever brother and sister to become national champions.

Nine of the 15 wrestlers from Rhinos Club came home with medals after representing KwaZulu-Natal at the recent SA National Championships in Newcastle.
Three gold, two silver and three bronze medals were won by the local ‘grip and grapplers’.

The Newcastle Cougars Wrestling Club Championship ran from March 31 to April 1.
Held at a packed show hall in Newcastle, the championship attracted participants from wrestling associations across South Africa, including associations from KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, North Gauteng, Sedibeng, Western Province, Ekurhuleni, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, East Gauteng and Central Gauteng.
