uThukela welcomes new intern plumbers
The students will be able to greatly help the district municipality after being trained in their field

uThukela District Municipality Mayor Inkosi NB Shabalala, Water & Sanitation Chairperson Cllr MM Khoza, Corporate Service General Manager Mr OS Mnguni and Municipal Manager Mr MB Mnguni have officially welcomed students studying at Mnambithi TVET College.
There are 40 students in total, from three local municipalities that fall under uThukela – namely Okhahlamba Local Municipality, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality and Alfred Duma Local Municipality.
These students are studying plumbing at Mnambithi TVET College and they will greatly assist uThukela after being trained in their field.
Mayor Shabalala officially welcomed the students and advised them to behave well so that they will make a good name for themselves in the municipality. The mayor said it is gratifying that these students see uThukela as a place where they can put their skills to good use.
The students will stay at uThukela District Municipality for 31 days, falling under the Department of Social Development, which will provide them with a stipend.
Municipal Manager Mnguni said that these students will be incredibly helpful within the municipality, and they will also put themselves in a good position if one day the municipality should need plumbers.

He continued to say that if other municipalities are searching for people with skills in the area of plumbing, they will also be able to consider these students.
