Boreholes donated to needy communities

Boreholes will be installed in areas falling under Alfred Duma and Inkosi Langalibalele municipalities

Soft drink company Coca-Cola has donated four boreholes to uThukela District Municipality through its ‘Coke Ville’ programme.

uThukela Mayor Inkosi NB Shabalala, Speaker TY Nqubuka and Water & Sanitation general manager Mr NN Khuzwayo visited Ematiwane (Ward 23) to identify an area with a spring where one borehole will be drilled.

Two more will be drilled in Matiwane and St Chad’s (Alfred Duma Local Municipality).

The last borehole is planned for the Mabhanoyini area of Inkosi Langalibale Local Municipality.

More than 200 people will benefit from receiving water in the Ematiwane and Jonono areas.

Mayor Shabalala and Speaker Nqubuka have committed themselves to ensure that the system runs smoothly and that water is available to community members.
