Tall trees trip power in Drift Road?

Residents want the trees to be cut down or the branches trimmed

Residents in Drift Road are complaining about the huge trees that are interfering with the power cables in the street.

The branches touch the electricity cables that run between the street lights.

Residents say this results in their electricity tripping on a regular basis, which is most inconvenient and worrisome to those living in the area.

“We have reported this issue to the municipality because we want something to be done about it. The trees must either be cut down or the branches trimmed so that they can’t damage the wires, with obvious consequences.

“We don’t want our power going off every time a strong wind blows or there’s a powerful storm. It’s concerning and nothing has been done to help us as yet,” said a homeowner who lives in the vicinity.
