The funeral service for Inkatha Freedom Party member and Imbabazane Constituency Interim Secretary Mthokozisi Sithole will be held today (February 2) at the Weenen Tennis Ground at 08:00.

Sithole was shot and killed in Weenen on Saturday (January 27).

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan confirmed the shooting and explained that, “A 36-year-old man was fatally injured in Weenen on Saturday night. The man was shot several times and was declared dead at the scene.”

Khan added that, “The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage. Weenen detectives are investigating a murder case. The deceased has since been identified as Mthokozisi Sithole.”
