KwaZulu Private Ambulance Services’ Frikkie Bekker and his crew gave a demonstration on the workings of hydraulics to a Technology class at Hluma Combined School on Friday, as part of their curriculum.
The learners were shown the different types of equipment that a rescue worker uses to extricate a person from wreckage. The excitement escalated among the children when they saw a forward rocker lift being completed and the amount of space it created. They were also informed about the functionality of the machine and the different tools, with their capabilities.
