Level 2 weather warning for scattered thunder showers

The South African weather services have issued a level 2 warning for scattered thunder showers, that are expected over the Northern KZN, including the Midlands KZN today with the possibility of some becoming severe.

Some of these thunderstorms are expected to be accompanied by damaging winds, excessive lightning, hail and heavy downpours which may lead to localized impacts.

Impacts include localized damage to infrastructure, settlements, vehicles, livelihood and livestock, flooding, injuries and danger to life due to lightning and power surges.
