Community faces water interruptions

uThukela apologises for any inconvenience caused

uThukela would like to inform the community that last night (March 27), a power failure was experienced at the Spioenkop Pump Station due to inclement weather conditions.

As a result, they have reduced water pressure from the Ladysmith Water Treatment Works to the areas of supply in Ladysmith, and have been in communication with Eskom.

The following areas are likely to be affected: Van Riebeeck Park and Hospital Park.

Also, there is a burst water pipe in Egerton Road, in the vicinity of the traffic lights next to Dr De Bruin’s rooms.

“Our operations team is attending to the burst pipe. This has also affected water supply in the surrounding areas, including Mkhamba and Hyde Park,” said uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza.
