Two people sadly lost their lives in a crash on the N3 this afternoon (April 7).

The accident took place 1.2km north of the Tugela Plaza on the southbound carriageway of the N3 on Van Reenen’s Pass.

Emergency personnel, together with RTI and Van Reenen police, rushed to the scene.

It is reported that the bodies were trapped in the wreckage.

Motorists travelling in this direction are advised to delay their journey.
