uThukela water woes as staff end protest

The rest of town is affected by routine maintenance work

A go-slow by staff at the water treatment plant in Ezakheni resulted in areas supplied by this plant being without water for most of today (June 13). The industrial action has been resolved and water will once again begin flowing.

However, as reservoirs are empty, expect low-lying areas to get water first, while high-lying areas can expect to have a long wait.

This, coupled with work being carried out at the Spioenkop Pump Station, has seen areas supplied by the town’s water treatment plant being without water for over a day.

This has been compounded by a water supply issue in the Modelkloof and Limit Hill areas.
