Taxi owners demand that the association’s offices be closed

They also demand a stop to the 'illegal' collection of funds

Disgruntled taxi owners from the Klipriver Taxi Association held a peaceful protest in the CBD today (August 2).

Everything came to a standstill in Murchison Street as a convoy of taxis slowly made its way along the main road.

Some of the taxi owners were on foot, while taxi windscreens displayed placards bearing their grievances.

One of their main demands is that the Klipriver Taxi Association offices must close with immediate effect. They claim that those occupying the office have done so illegally and they, as taxi owners, do not recognise them.
