Bleed for a good cause next Saturday
By donating blood, individuals can make a tangible impact on their community's health and well-being
As the holiday season approaches, the demand for blood increases, making it crucial to maintain a stable blood supply. With this in mind, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is gearing up for ‘The Big Bleed’ next Saturday (November 30).
This is a nationwide blood drive that aims to collect an impressive 5000 units of blood.
On Friday (November 15), the Ladysmith Blood Bank set up a mobile blood donation unit at De Francas SPAR. The response was overwhelming, with lots of donors rolling up their sleeves to contribute to this vital cause.
The SANBS would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to each and every donor who took the time to visit the mobile unit and donate blood. Their selfless act will undoubtedly save countless lives.

To achieve the ambitious goal of the ‘The Big Bleed’, the SANBS is calling on all eligible donors to come forward and make a difference next weekend. Donors are encouraged to visit the blood bank at San Marco Centre. As a token of appreciation, each donor will receive a special gift. Mark your calendars for November 30 and join the movement to save lives, one donation at a time.
