A passenger in an Eskom vehicle lost their life and another person was injured in an accident on the Ntabamhlophe road in Shayamoya on Sunday (February 2). The crash happened at about 18:00.

The exact cause of the accident is not yet known, but bad weather is thought to have played a role.

Police, ambulance services and towing services responded to the scene.

According to a towing service employee, the vehicle was taken to Harrismith after the accident.
